The Company

Our client is a global specialty pharmaceutical company that, through its subsidiaries, assists healthcare professionals and their patients with the treatment of addiction.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Establishing and building strong and influential stakeholder networks and relationships
  • Understanding of the legislative, political, regulatory and reimbursement processes is essential
  • Interactions with the regulatory and pricing authorities
  • Working in close cooperation with the local, national and regional business teams to ensure all plans and activities are aligned to the business strategy
  • Managing and partnering where appropriate with external political affairs, PR and regulatory agencies
  • Setting of specific and time-bound targets (contact/outcomes measures with identified treatment advocates and influential groups) ensure the execution of stakeholder plans to ensure a positive clinical, (i.e., patient, user, client, consumer), political and legislative framework that influences access to treatment, within timescales and budget
  • Ensure the stakeholder mapping and action plans are aligned to and support the business priorities
  • Directly identify and build a regional stakeholder base of supportive, politicians, legislators, patients, users support groups and clinicians that support both current business and future strategy in the region that increase access and quality of treatment for addicted patients
  • Identifying and building of a strong policy stakeholder base
  • Organising and delivering key policy stakeholder meetings
  • In collaboration with external consultants development and use of health economic models/business cases that demonstrate the benefits of treatment and the company’s portfolio in the delivery of quality patient care for addicted patients

Candidate Profile

 

Education and Experience

  • Science Degree, nursing, medical, Pharmacy, public health, politics or medical education
  • Public health management experience, Government political experience in health or experience in drug dependence would be ideal
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience working in external-facing public affairs or market access role, ideally in drug dependence or similar complex social impact disease spaces such as CNS, Psychiatry, Infectious diseases
  • Technically competent and high levels of understanding of healthcare provision/ commissioning in the lead market
  • Experienced in communications/PR/stakeholder management/specialist Sales with demonstrable political astuteness
  • Track record of building effective relationships at senior levels in Government and/or regulatory environments
